They are a high-energy group who enjoys watching old westerns, MeTv, listening to music, and participating in various activities. Activities include fine motor, gross motor, patterns, following directions, sensory, sports, arts & crafts, outings and social activities. Clients are assisted with their ADLs through active treatment.
Like the plant itself, our Desert Rose clients thrive in sunlight. They enjoy spending time outside playing basketball, water activities, kickball, and volleyball in the courtyard. We also practice fine and gross motor skills and plenty of sensory skills for our Desert Rose Behavior Unit clients. We have seen great progress in our clients through the years and have a few Special Olympic athletes participating in running and bowling!
The flowers of many Magnolia species are edible. This is fitting because the ladies of Magnolia Cottage (our all-female cottage) love to eat! They enjoy numerous outings including restaurants, Target and Special Olympics participation. Magnolia Cottage integrates various ages and abilities with just the right amount of “sass”!
Bamboo cottage has 16 amazing men residing there. They all have their own unique personalities and bring so much joy to the cottage. This cottage is considered our developmental group and have high needs for training and active treatment in all or most of their ADLs. They all enjoy doing different things and many enjoy time alone or individual activities over group activities.
